Parkinsons disease onset is
(recognised, diagnosed) in
usually the latter part of life.
However, the initial decline in
dopamine may have started at
a considerably earlier time. By
having these diseases/illnesses, it gives an individual a strong, competent functioning mind for 3 quarters of a lifetime. The other quarter is compromised and eventually the symptoms that are presented can leave a person a shadow of their former self, unfortunately, especially in the latter stages.
- Lewy Bodies found in the hippocampus and the frontal cortex where amyloid beta plaques are found.
- Amyloid beta found in the substantia nigra and locus coeruleus where there are major deposits of Lewy Bodies.
Obviously, if somatostatin were higher none of this would be happening. However, the expansive and more in-depth thinking would possibly not be available. Not 100% the reason all the time, but it helps. Therefore, it is quite logical that elderly schizophrenics sufferers >65 are presenting with Lewy Bodies and amyloid beta plaques in autopsies.
Vascular Dementia – problems with planning or organising. Dopamine is once again high. Levels from various parts of the brain contribute to form the basis of this condition and eventually make it more prominent.
- Cortisol in higher proportions put the heart and the valves within under stress.
- Serotonin ends up narrowing the blood vessels.
- Excessive glutamate over an extended period can destroy neurons which can lead to stroke.
Endorphins are a strong pain reliever. It remains on this list because of this quality.
Human erythrocytes play a highly particular role in the body which is to transport oxygen by the protein haemoglobin. Dopamine, thyroid hormones, cortisol, and aldosterone rely on erythrocytes to function as a circulating pool. They have an insulin receptor which responds to insulin in a very functional capacity. This is done by increasing phosphorylation of tyrosine residues in several proteins.
- Note: because amyloid beta competes with insulin over the same receptors it may leave red blood cells with little access to glucose. Glucose is the energy source of the red blood cell.
Alpha synuclein decreases insulin resistance by glucose uptake in adipocytes and muscles.
